Since 2014 I have been teaching into the creative writing and literary studies programs at Macquarie University in Sydney. I have designed and convened units including Writing Ecologies (an undergraduate unit in environmental nonfiction writing), Digital Voices and Publishing Tools (postgraduate) and the Introduction to Writing Creative Nonfiction (postgraduate). Additionally, I often lecture or tutor in the first year creative writing course, the final year capstone in both majors, MQ’s Masters of Research program and some of our Open Universities Australia (OUA) offerings. Students enquiring about Postgraduate supervision are encouraged to get in touch with the English Department administrator.
For most of 2018 and into early 2019 I am undertaking a research fellowship in the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, at Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, and will be on leave from my teaching position.
Prior to joining Macquarie I taught at NYU in Sydney, where I convened EcoCriticism as an adjunct for three years. My PhD and undergraduate degrees (LLB, BA [Hons.]) were undertaken at the University of Western Australia.
